Kuasa Design Power Asia 2009 - Design Conference, Design Showcase & Party, Student Workshops 08-09 August 2009, Kota UM Campus, Jalan Tun Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

What an intense & incredible
one and a half days of Conference, Showcase party and Workshops!

We set out to prove that Asian design speakers can pack enough firepower to match the best design minds in the world and we are happy to have succeeded, based on the feedback you gave us. What an inspiring bunch of eloquent public speakers, so charming and generous with that unique Asian warmth and willingness to share. Although every good thing must come to an end, for us, this is merely the beginning of many great things to come.

Sure, it wasn't perfect, people and things went missing, the venue equipment malfunctioned, batteries drained plus we wished the overall attendance could have been better. Still, we, the organisers were delighted to have all of you and hope that you have absorbed all that you could from the guest speakers, received inspiration, made many new friends and generally had a great time despite the shortcomings.

wREGA would like to convey a sincere THANK YOU to all you (oh so well-behaved) participants and our special invited guests, our accommodating and inspiring guest speakers, the talented showcase designers/artists, our small army of hard-working volunteers/facilitators, our ever so supportive event partners and generous sponsors.

As we sort out our post-conference matters, we will be updating the KUASA website with new content based on footage from the conference speakers presentations, notes resulting from the student workshops, participants contributions & more. There will be photos to share & video clips to download, comments to read & feedback to give, etc. So come back often to visit us at www.kuasa.wrega.org.

All of us in wREGA (we are a voluntary non-profit organisation formed by designers for designers) hope to be able to bring more of such exciting events like this KUASA conference to you in the future. We already have ideas for the next KUASA 2011... plus other spin-off fringe events.

If you have ideas how to organise better, more interesting events for the design community, in collaboration with wREGA or you need our endorsement of support, do contact us. Or if you have some spare time to lend your skills and expertise to help out and be a design volunteer, join wREGA today. There is no better & satisfying way to learn than by volunteering.

Meanwhile, we hope you will continue to support wREGA and all our organised events big & small for the benefit and advancement of the design community in Malaysia.
